In 1951, Mr. Prateep and Mr. Khamron Pracharktam launched a humble optical business in Bangkok, aiming to offer quality prescription eyewear at affordable prices. Their vision expanded in 1962 with the founding of Thai Optical Industries — Thailand’s first glass lens manufacturer, and later, the first to introduce plastic lenses.
Rebranded as Namsilp Thai, they opened Thailand’s first eyewear chain, Better Vision, in 1965. Under Dr. Sawang’s leadership in the 1980s, the brand grew into shopping malls and expanded to Singapore and Malaysia by 2005.
Today, Better Vision operates over 200 stores across Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, continuing its legacy of accessible, high-quality eye care.
